OPEN VERDICT RETURNED. WI_.F_X_,Y INFLICTED INJURIES BETWEEN 7.45 AND MIDNIGHT. Immediately after the luncheon adjournment Mr. Meredith intimated that all the evidence had been called. Mr. Prendergast said he would like to make a few remarks, but the coroner said he did not think it necessary. After declaring his dissatisfaction with some of the evidence, notably that of McMahon, the coroner said he was fully satisfied that Kelly was blameless. He j could therefore only return an open ver- ! diet that death was the result of injuries i wilfully inflicted before midnight and after ~'Ao on the night of July 115.
