MOPLAH 'REBELS.
GRAVE FEATURE ARISES. EX-SEPOY AND POUCE HELP. OUTRAGES AGAINST HINDUS. (By Cable.—Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 20. The Australian Press Association learns that Indian expert opinion in London views with the utmost gravity the fact that Indian policemen and exsoldiers have joined the Moplahs. The extremists all along openly avowed their intension to obtain support of Sepoys, Up to the present happily there has been little response, but this feature of the Moplah rebellion will necessitate greater precautions. Outrages against Hindus by fanatical Moplahs are likely to disarrange the extremist propaganda, causing a cleavj age between Hindus and Mohammedans, and weakening Hindu sympathy with the- Khalifat agitation.— (A. and N.Z.) REBELS IN FLIGHT. (Received 1.30 p.m.l DELHI, August 29. The latest reports from the area of the Moplah troubles state that Malappuram has been relieved, and the military have assumed complete control of railway traffic. The rebels arc fleeing to the interior, hut there is some extension of the trouble to the southern districts.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
