A BRITISH PURCHASE. LONDON". August 10. The Berlin correspondent of the "Daily Chronicle" states that the Forestal Land. Timber, and Railway Company, a British, concern, has purchased Rcnners' tanning nnd dye works at Hamburg, paying 5.750 marks for each 1,000 rr-irk share, the purchase price totalling 14,000,000 marks (nominally £700,000). The Germans drew the bulk of their raw material from Argentina, where the Forestal Company overwhelmed Renners'. The operations of the Forestal Company are world-wide, and its capital amounts to more than £5.000,000.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
