PROFIT ON THE FIGHT.
HAU-A-BULUOH DOLLARS. DEMPSEY*S NEXT OPPOKENT. (Received 10.30 a.m.l NEW YORK, July 5. Mr. Tex Richard, promoter of the j Dempsey-Carpentier fight, has announced that the receipts totalled 1.623,000 dollars, of which 500.000 -iollars is profit. Preliminary dicsassions have begun regarding bouts between Dempsey and Willard or Dempsey and Wills, and Carpentier and Mike Gibbons. Mr. Descamps. Carpehtiers manager, estimates that it will be three months before Carpentier is able to fight, owing to his thumb. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.) M. Descamps says that Carpentier is* 1 j ready to take all-comers as light heavyI weight champion. He admits that I Dempsey is his superior, and will not | seek a return match. —(Renter.)
