If you will undertake this work for mc my council will refund the cost of labour and material used." The chairman stated that it had been reported to him that the breaking of a number of planks on the bridge had held up the traffic at intervals during the past two or three weeks. Apparently The council's engineer was not able to give the bridge the close supervision desired wit_ the decking in its present state. It •was not desirable to entirely close the bridge. Alter a lengthy discussion the board decided that it would undertake the repairing of the bridge on behalf o£ the Waitemata County Council, us suggested toy their engineer.
