OBITUARY.
MR. R. P. MILSTE
Mr. E. P. Milne, whose death took place yesterday, at Ponsonby, at the age of 64, had for the past thirteen years occupied the position of chief clerk in the local oDice of the Inspector of Machinery. Mr. Milne arrived in New Zealand in ISB6 as accountant to the English firm of McKeown, Robinson and Abigdor, contractors for the construction of the Midland Railway. Later when the Midland Railway Co. was taken over by the Government he was appointed to the position of chief clerk in the Inspection of Machinery Department at Wellington; and when that Department was merged into the Marine Department he transferred to Auckland to the position which he occupied at the time of his death. Mr. Milne was active in religious work, and for thirteen years was secretary to St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, Ponsonby, as well as being a member of the Session. Mr. Milne leaves a widow (the second daughter of the late Hon. James Kerr, M.L.C.), a son and daughter, as well as a large circle of friends, to mourn his death.
