SMOKE CONCERT.
AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION. An enjoyable smote concert was held tjy ' Society of Arts Han last evening. There was a large attendance, and Dr. C. B. Ttossiter. president of the Association, was in the chair. The chairman stated that there were over 2000 motorists in Auckland, and thxt 'there was araple scope for ad<iinir to the ! membership to form a more powerful body. He also made reference to the su-cceasml i gathering at Muriwai In connection iritfl the recent sports. I Mr. J. A. Gillett. president of the Garase ! 'Proprietors' Association, spoke of tSe relation between the two bodies. He saia that his association was determined to give motorists good service, and so establish confidence. Mr. C. Mclntosh. president of the Auckland Provincial Motor Cycle Club, also j referred to the friendly relations th»t ' J existed between his association aJid the ! Automobile Association. Mr Stewart of the Helensrille Automobile Association, said that his association was formed less than a year ago. hat already nnmbered 40 members, who evinced great enthusiasm and took a keen interest in the work of the Auckland branch. Mr. M. H. 'Wynyard. president of the Good Soads Association, in outlining the policy of that body, stated that the Minister ' for Public TVorks {the Hon. J. G.
