ELECTRIC POWER BOARD.
ONETirXGA AND NEW LYXN\ | A report of the Public Service Committee to the City Council dealing with the conference proposals for the Electric Power Board for the Auckland Isthmus j was received by the Onehwnga Boromrh \ Council last evening. The committee ' found two chief points of difference between the City Council and the conference of representatives of local bodies, and said that without a settlement on ! both, nothing making for the desired i result could be attained. These points were: (1) The outside authorities required equal representation in members, irrespective of capital value or population- (2) The outside local authorities would purchase only the city electric station, leaving the city with the remaining assets of the department. The committee recommended thai the outside local bodies be advised that the council was unable to a-ceept these proposals, and that, failing acceptance of the principles laid down, no further action could be taken. After discussion it was resolved to reply that the. council had already affirmed the amended report and saw no reason to depart from i the same. It was further decided, on the motion of Mr. C. K. (ioode., seconded by Mr. Stoupe, -That the council would urged upon the executive of the KdenManukau electric power supply scheme to pet the permission of the Hon. J. C. ] :Coates, .Minister of Public Works, to, iproceed with their scheme." i I Discussion on the same eubject took place at a meeting of the New Lvnn Town Hoard last nifrht. The board "decided to adhere to its previous decision adopting the full report of the conference.
