N.S.W. FLOUR MILLS IDLE.
SYDNEY, this Gay. Mr. Quill, secretary of the Millers' Union, etatfs that nine of twelve flour mills in the metropolis, and 7S per cent in the country have closed down. Seven , hundred of the 1100 members in the State are unemployed. The union has issued a manifesto urging a commission of inquiry from the point of production 1 1 to the finished article, particularly shed- " I ding light on the ratification of the, Aus- * tralian Wheat Board's decisions, which it is regretted are shrouded in secrecy. * The action of the Board in refusing to 1 reduce the price of local wheat is rapidly converting Australia into a mere selling f afjency for other countries.— (A. and 1 N.Z.
