John Hodge, M.P., in i spa<?ch at Wigan, outlined a project ioi cooperation in the matter of meeting the depression in the iron trade. His idea is that the workers and the em { plovers should contribute an i-quai sun j for every tou of steel produced for th( I formation of a pool to provide half wages in the e\ont of sickness, for ]>ay durinj holidays, and also in the event of unem plovaienl.
