AUSTRALIAN-ENGLISH TEST.
DOUBTFUL UMPIRING. ' ENGLISHMEN MAY "COME BACK." r LONDON, December 24. Wilson, cabling to the "Daily Express," states that Woolley was very unlucky to be given out stumped in the test match. It was a doubtful decision. Good judges are of opinion that Oldfield did not handle the ball. Opinion is also much divided over the decision resulting in the dismissal of Douglas. The "Daily News" says that it is to be hoped that the fellowship of the game will not be marred by more unpleasant umpiring incidents like that in which Douglas was concerned. The "Times" states that there is no i reason why the story of 1011 should not l be repeated. The Marylebone team is a 5 very strong combination, and the "Times" believes that it will still give l an excellent account of tsejf.—(United t Service.)
