OBITUARY.
MR. ROBERT ORMSBY. The death occurred on Thursday of a well-known settler of the King Country in the person of Mr. Robert Ormsby. at the- ajri} of OS. Deceased came to New Zealand when a vouikt man, and married a lady of the Maniapoto tribe. Hβ leaves a family of seven sons, all wellknown settlers in the Rohe Potae. Deceased was one of the first teachers in his district, his early training in Dublin University standing him in good stead. MRS. ROBERT RE IP. A colonist of 56 years passed away at Howick on Christm;is nieht in the por"i of Mrs. Jane Tait Reid, widow of the late Mr. Robert Reid, boatbuilder, in her eighty-fiftli year. Mr. and Mrs. Reid arrived" in Auckland in the ship "Balaclava, -, about 1564, and Mr. Reid was one of the best known men in the early and busy days of our shipbuilding industry.. Mr. Reid died a; Howu-k ten years ago, and his widow had resided there ever since with one of hvr daughters. Four sons and four daughter survive to mourn their loss.
