SECONDARY SCHOOL CADETS.
THE DISTINCTIVE PUGGAREES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OHRISTCHUROH, this day. At the recent annual meeting of th» Christ's College Old Boys' Association it was unanimously decided to support the protest being made by the acting headmaster against the proposed abolition by the Defence Department of the dis-' tinctive .puggarees worn by secondary school cadets. It was aleo decided to invite the co-operation of the principal secondary schools in the Dominion iv the protest. < The secretary of the association has now been advised hy the BrigadierGeneral in charge of Administration that instructions have been issued .to tfll offi cers commanding districts that cadets of secondary schools may retain their distinctive cadet's puggaree, the cost of wh'ch is to be provided from the maintenance grants. The Defence Department will, however, continue to stock only plain puggarees for cadets, and these will be available for any secondary school cadets.
