The first innings of New i_out!i Wales closed for 802 runs (Gregory 43, Hendry 82;. Bowling: C: Pellew took three wickets for 110 runs, and Wright three for 1.4. In their first innings South Australia made 191, C. Pellew was highest scorer with 73. Mailey took eight wickets for 81 runs.
