PRACTICALLY SMOTHERED^ (By Teleempb.—Own Correspondent.) DUNBDIX, thie day. That part of the Taratu coal mine in which a fire originated ten days ago~ie now thoroughly blocked off, and the fixe ie practically smothered. The manager hopes to be able to re-open the workings at this spot in three or fow weeks' time. Meanwhile the men are opening up another place, 400 feet distant, and it ie expected that coal from ttik new drive will be coming out hy the en* «* thie week.
