BIG FOR BAD LANGUAGE The nee of obscene language, in public strppts, trains, and trams is looked upon t by Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., as a serious I offpnce. and onp that must be firmly dealt j with. He mentioned his feeling on the subject to-day, when a man from the King Country named Duncan Kennedy (54), admitted having been drunk in the j Wellington express on Sunday morning, J and having used obscene language. The accused was fined £20, in default two months' imprisonment. Another man, John Greachy (42), who admitted having used obscene language in Customs Street when he. was drunk, was fined £10, in default a month's imprisonment.
