Ridings (34). for beuig disorderly while dnink in Wynyard Strci. Dpvonport, on Saturday, was hnoj 40/. Daniel Collins (36). for committing a r-uisanee on the street, was fined £i, in default 21 days' imprisonment. Archibald Gillon (50) and .lo;>p'i Downey (27). for fighting in Little Queen Street when they were drunk, we.> fined £2 each. WANTED TO GO BACK. "Came out of gaol a week r.fro, sir, and says he wants to go back," declared Sergt. Rowell of 'William Barker (7n). an old man who came up on a charce of vajjranry, and appeared in company with a sheet of 70 previous convictions for drunkenness, foegginp and vasrrancv The old man was sent back to goal for a term of three months. JUST HELPED HIMSELF. The snatching of a jar of lollies from a sweets and fruit shop in the Ferry Buildines late on Saturday night was admitted by a trimmer on ti>e s.s Remuera, named James Wallis (19). The young fellow was consideraii.v under the influence of liquor wnen he went into the shop while others wpra there, and he slipped away with a Jar of lollic = valued at 21/, but was followed and arrested with the goods on him. lie was fined £2 and 30/ costs.
