Editor.) ,<\t. —l trust the City Council will see tiie public are, not victimised in the matter nf tin , fares charged by the drivers of the numerous motor vehicles which will l>u immediately put on the mad if the tram cars ceaee running at the end of this week. During the last tramway employees' striko the motor drivers charged one shilling fare from town to Poneonby, an increase of nearly five hundred per cent on the tram fare of twopence farthing. I thinik a fair thinp n-niilj lie sixpence, which is nearly three times the present tramway f&re. for tiie s.ct:.in. Tlio City Council should fix the fares to be charged, before grant-; inj? licenses t<i ilie.?e motor drivers, so that, advantage mtfrht not be tiilvcn of tiie misfortune.-, of the public.—l am, etc. CITIZEN".
