ARMOURED TRAIN CAPTURED. BUSHED AFTER BREAKDOWN., FORTY MEN MISSING. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.! i t (Received i'.3O a.m.) t LONDON, September 7. l A War Office Mesopotamia com- ] munique states that the garrison of tho camp at Paniawah railway station, above j Bagdad, was being withdrawn to the : town, an armoured train covering the , operation. The train broke down, and | was rushed by 4000 insurgents. The , crew made a resolute defence, and inflicted 500 casualties before they were finally overpowered. Forty, including two British oflicers, are reported missing. The insurgents captured with the | train a 13-pounder, three machine-guns, and 40 boxes of ammunition. Eeports state that owing to hostile; demonstrations the political agent at' Hit, who was withdrawing by train from j Ramarra, was fired on and compelled to | return. The Eighty-fifth Brigade reached Museyis, on the Middle ■ Kuphratcs, and found that the bridge across the river was partly destroyed. (Eeuter.) '
