CHINA'S CIVIL WAR.
BATTLE IN THE SOUTH FOR POSSESSION OF CANTON. I (Received 10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 2. The New York "Evening Globe's" Canton correspondent says that it is understood that rival Chinese forces are massing for a decisive battle to determine the possession of Canton and the control of the Southern Government. Bandit bands are meantime looting unhindered. One band penetrated behind the Kwanghi army, which is advancing against the revolutionists at Waichow, whore the final battle is expected to be fought.—(A. and N.Z.)
