PARIS, May 24.

While proceeding to Montbrieon to unveil a memorial to Lieutenant Raymond, Senator and aviator, M. Paul Deschanel (President of France), when walking along the corridor of Uiis train, fell through an open door. He \vaß not missed until the train had travelled 40 miles. A gang of, fettlers. picked up M. Deschanel unconscious. 'When he recovered he said: "I am the President," but failed to convince the workmen, who thought him insane, and conveyed him to Montargis.

He is not believed to be seriously injured, though he is badly bruised. Madame Deschancl s and M. Millerand have gone to Montargis.—(A. and N.Z.)
