The public are warned that firmed £1 notes of the National Bank of New Zealand are still in circulation, and if they accept them thoy will only have valueI less oaper on their hands. The notes are 'genuine except f.ir the signature, which is forged. They are those which were | stolen some months aeo from a package jof unsigned notes on their way out from | England. The numbers run from 200.000 onwards. 530,801 to 620.000 and 600.201 to 601.000. A few days a»o one of these numbered 600.906 was accepted by Mr. j Arthur, sailmaket, in Wellineton, and* on being handed in at the National Bank : was returned as a forgery.
