BATTLE ON' ARTICLE 10,

NEW YORK, February 12.
The "New York Tribune's" Washington correspondent states that the mild reservationist Republican senators offered Mr. Hitchcock a compromise to the reservation on Article 10. Mr. Hitchcock refused, asserting that the Republicans must accept the interpretative reservation. It is now felt that there will be a stiff battle on the question of Article 10.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
