' A CLOSE THING. - (Received 11.45 a.m.) "■"' LONDON, February 12. The Paisley polling is being held to-day. Yesterday's "activity of all parties was tremendous. Anticipations of the result remain cautious, and it is- expected to be a close thing between Mr. Aaquith and Mr Biggar. The Liberals are hopeful of a small majority. Labour is more optim-i-tc ; It is computed in well-informed quarters that Mr. AsquitWs output of speeches in ten days surpasses anything in living memory except Gladstone's Medlothian campaign.—(A. and *.6.) ■,
