AUSTRALIAN MAILS.
The Mateno, Tvhigh. arrrved -from Sydney yesterday afternoon, brought a large English and Australian mai], -which was delivered through the city this morning. More Australian letters left Sydney by the Moeraki," which sailed for Wellington, within two hours of the Auckland steamer's time of departure. She arrived at Wellington yesterday, and the Auckland portion of her mail should arrive by the express this afternoon. The Tofua, Vhieh is due at the southern port this morning from San ■Francisco, has some 300 bags of mail and a large number of parcels for New Zealand, thought to consist of Canadian and American mail. The Auckland portion of this will arrive some r%ne to-morrow from -the- fiouth, '
