RED CROSS CAMPAIGN.
At the meeting of the Joint Committee of the Auckland centre of the New Zealand branch of the Order of St John and British Red Cross this afternoon, a report was submitted showing amounts received from the Auckland Provincial Red Cross campaign as follows: Waikato county, .-.'20.797 9/8Manukau, £13,806 13/10; Tauran***.' £11,422 10/3; Waltemata, £10.178 0/7• Whakatane, £9,279 5/S: W-.iipa. £8.500Opotiki, £8,446 0/3; Piako, £5,340 5/6* Franklin, £7,951 6/3; Waitomo, £7 79' 7/1; Ohinemuri, £7,49S 10/2; Raglan £7.354 15/11; Thames. £0.940 15/4 *' Matamata. £6,070 ()/; Taumarunui' £4.986 13/3; Hobson, £2,000*. Rotorua' £1.876 S/; Kawbia. £904 15/1; Man ,i----tawhiri Valley. £400; Towai-Maromakii Queen Carnival (Red Cr_ss share), £370 12/3; Awakino Copper Trail Committee £22S 0/2; Herckiuo Rod Cross effort' £01; Port Albert. £41; Otnmatea! £7 10/; Hukerenui, £5 10/5; and sundry country donations credited to ' provincial campaign, £1,450 6/5 Totnl £147,563 6/1. ' The treasurer's report showed £50.000 on fixed deposit with the Rank of Now Zealand, and on current account £10,933 3/9. The treasurer pointed out there was still an immense amount of work to be done in New Zealand before the obligations of the Red Cross were fulfilled. The committee was waiting advice from headquarters. London, as to how any final credit l.alanee will be disposed of there.
