n n ' i- COMING FORWARD WELL. it 3 • WEEKLY YALUATIONS. 1; Owing to the fine weather that hai *" been experienced the wool this season i *■ coming in earlier than usual. All wh< * possibly can are taking advantage of thi weather and are pushing on shearing operations with every dispatch. Gener ally speaking, the clip is rather cleane) than usuaL There was not a grea: deal of bushfelling last year, and the nev burns this year are corresponding!vtfew so that dirty wool from this source i= to a large extent non-existent. Th( dreaded utuwai weed has riot yet made its appearance, and if the fine weathei continues, much of the shearing should of be completed before it comes to seed n . ] Although the country cannot yet be said a . i to be suffering from a drought, one effect a i of the dry weather, and the consequent lp shortage of feed, in regard to the condi,g tion of the wool is that it is somewhat lighter than usual, and also rather finer. n So far aboat 6000 bales have come forward this season and valuations are h taking place weekly in the stores of the e I Government brokers in Auckland. There have been no objections lodged to any aa of these valuations, and it may be taken, therefore, that the prices fixed by the e valuers are generally satisfactory. The J ° prices, of course, are still fixed under n * the Imperial requisition scheme, but so j* far as is known at present, this is the * last vear of the operation of tfce scheme. ™~ Last season's wool has practically all m been lifted from the stores and there is ample accommodation for the present season's clio. le ;
