There are representatives present from the local bodies and companies controlling the tramway systems / —municipal and private, electric and cable—of tho Dominion. In connection ! with the electric systems, chairmen of .committees and general managers are present from Auckland, Wellington,. Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, Wanganui, and New Plymouth; while I the managers and sawttaries of cable tramway services represent the Roslyn , and Kaikorai (Dunedin) and the Kclburn ; (Wellington) companies.

j The object of the conference is to I come to a decision on the matter of a .Dominion agreement relating to wages, . general conditions and hours of labour. ! The demands of the employees for increased wages and generally improved conditions have already been published. i It is understood that in addition to the question of a national agreement, | important subjects will be discussed at the conference.
