GRATUITIES TO HEROES. PARLIAMENTARY RESOLUTIONS. (By Telegraph.—Special to 'Star.") ', WELLINGTON*, Wednesday. The Prime Minister took the opportunity in the House totday to move a series orf resolutions recording the grateful acknowledgment of the House of Representatives respecting the devoted and noble services of all ranks of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, all ranks and ratings of the New Zealand Naval "Forces and members of the New Zealand j Army Nureing Services during- the four years of war; also the profound gratitude ) of the House, in the name of the people I of New Zealand, to all branches of the Imperial and Allied Navies, and to officers and men of the Mercantile Marine. A third resolution read: "That this House, in a spirit of reverence and pride. honours the memory of those New Zealanders who gave their livee in obedience to the call of justice and freedom in the service of their country and humanity. To their relatives, in the hour of their sorrow, this House tenders its respectful sympathy." The House also placed on record its appreciation of many kindnesses, courtesies, and privileges extended to members of the New Zealand -Expeditionary Force on active service in various parts J of the world, and tendered the grateful I thanks of the Dominion to all who helped to cheer ana comfort its soldiers while absent from New Zealand. The various resolutions were carried after members had paid tributes to those j who had participated in the work of the JNew Zealand. Imperial and Naval Forces, and also to the work of the Mercantile Marine. Members stood in their places while the resolution touchj ine those who had sriven their lives was j being put and carried.
