i PIEA FOR BETTER STEAMERS. < fßy Telegraph.—Special to "Star.*") WELLINGTON, Friday. ' The interesting and important matter of improved steamer communication between Xcw Zealand, Samoa and the Cook Islands was again opened in the House to-day, by Mr. Glover, who urged the Prime Minister to increase his efforts for a better means of communication. Mr. Massey replied that the New Zealand Parliament had consented to the acceptance of the mandate over Samoa, andie hoped and believed trade would , so rapidly increase that before long a | very much improved steam service would j fee "established between the Dominion and Samoa. ! The Premier added that be bad already I communicated with the Union Company, j asking for better steamers for the South j Sea Islands service than bad existed for ' some time past. I - — !
