THE FAIR IS OVER.
SUCCESSFUL THREE DAYS. The Waterside carnival lias ended, after a crowded session last night. All the galleries were just as crowded as the main floor throughout the evening, the very large crowds being evidently particularly desirous of seeing the dancing programme by the little pupils of Miss Daphe Knight. The orchestra, under Mrs. A. C. Paweon, was a capital one, and the girlies who spun about the stage in various delightful eolos and effective taxleaux were all rapturously encored. Misses Betty Keenan, minuet; Dorothy Griffiths, Ruby Sheriffs, Louis Gaudin, Zoe Haynes, and Dorothy Steele were the best of the solo dancers, and the "War to Peace" tableaux brought out as Peaoe, Miss Evi Lynch; Victory, Miss Anita Webster; Ballets of New Zealand, Italy, France, Japan, Belgium, America, Britain. Soloists: Die Johnston, Bernice Luke, Edna Matthews, Rosa Sachs, Gwen Brierly. The prized for the .national dancing competitions in the afternoon were awarded as follows: —Highland fling, novice, Miss N. Stewart, 1; Miss E. Selby, 2. Highland Flinjt, open, Miss R. Phillips, 1; Misses J. Mansell and M. Stone, 2. Sword dance, novice: Miss M. Trevarthcn, 1; Miss N. Hardy, 2. Sword dance, open: Miss R. Phillips, 1; Miss E. Sandford, 2. Irish jig, novice: Miss M. Stone, 1; Miss J. Mansell, 2. Irish jig, open: Miss R. Phillips, 1; Miss D. Court, 2.
