MAIN TRUNK SUPPLIES. (By Telegraph. —Press Assoc—tion.* MARTOX, Thursday. Referring to a Press Association message regarding the shortage of timber, i reporter this morning interviewed the, ;hairman of the Rangitikei Sawmillers' Association, who stated that, so far as Main Trunk millers were concerned, everything was being done to relieve the shortage. The output by members of the Ransitikci Association last month was nearly'4,ooo,o3o feet, compared with 2,250,000 feet in the same month last year. . The Railway Department was doing all it possibly could to transport timber, a considerable improvement over normal services being noticeable. In support of this, he stated that for six weeks immediately after the railway restrictions were removed—from August 24 to October o—the railways lifted from the Mam I Trunk mills 12,500,000 feet of timber, an , increase of appr.iximately4,ooo,ooo feet over the corresponding period of last year.
