DEPORTATION" POWERS. j (By Telegraph.—Speclnl to "Star.") j WELLIXGTOX, Wednesday. ' The Undesirable Immigrants Exclusion' Bill, introduced by Government to-day. [ seeks to control the entry into Xew Zea- j land of Germans and Austrians. who will j I not be allowed to land except with the authority of the Attorney-General, tinless such alien has been domiciled in I New Zealand, and not absent more than two years. Tiie Attorney-General may j prohibit the landing in Xew Zealand of i 1 any person not permanently resident in | the Dominion who is disaffected or disloyal, or of a character that his presence may be injurious to the peace,' order and good government of the country. Any person oi similar type in Xew Zealand who has not been a permanent resident of Xew Zealand for twelve months, or is a German or Austrian born may be ordered to leave Xew Zealand by the Attorney-General, acting under the direction of the Governor-General. The penalty for a breach of the Act is j imprisonment not exceeding twelve months or a fine of £100. The Bill will also apply to Cook j j Islands.
