LABOUR-SAVING APPLIANCES. I. i • 'If any justification were needed for the Remington claim that the sign of the red seal, which is its trade mark, is the " open sesame" to all that is finest in the typewriting and office appliance world, it is clearly shown at the company's stall at the' " Old English Fair" now open at the Town Hall. Tlie labour-saving devices this company have provided for the om«e are 1 most varied and efficient. The Reming-I. ton typewritter was the first to have a single shift keyboard, the firsj to have a two-colour ribbon, and the first to be provided with a tabulating device. It has always been in the van in the typewriting world. Besides the ordinary correspondence model, the Remington Company have produced a cambination correspondence and billing typewriter, which is known as the Xo. 11 model. This machine is fitted with a 10-stop tabulator and one needs really to see it at work to realise the wonderful advantage it Tiae over the ordinary correspondence typewriter. The machine, which the company rightly terms "the daddy of all the 'Remingtons," however, is that wonder of mechanical genius, the Remington bookkeeping typewriter, which adds and subtracts ns it writes and occupies no more space than an ordinary machine, and I requires no more experienced person to opernte it than an average typist! "Remtico" typewriter supplies of carbons and ribbons, which have proved themselves the finest made, are a feature of the exhibit.
