Albert Dempsey, remanded from Tauranga and Whakatane, appeared in ] Court this morning to answer four j charges of issuing valueless cheques to I local business houses. Accused pleaded I guilty to all charges. On three charges Ihe was committed to the Supreme Court lat Auckland for sentence, and on the 1 fourth he was sentenced to three months' i imprisonment. The amounts of the J valueless cheques totalled £21, poods in the way of clothing, rifle ammunition. I also taxi hire being received in exchange. Accused goes on to Hamilton, where he will answer similar charges.
