HEAVY MAIN TRUNK TRAFFIC.
. (By Telegrapl)—Special to "Star."} WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. Herries suggested to the Prime Minister this afternoon that the setond through express on the Main Trunk line should be started on November Ist instead of December, owing to the great rush of traffic , at present on the line. llr. Massey replied that the second express between Wellington and Auckland j would be put on for the Christmas holi|day traffic, and might become permanent. iHe did not think it would be possible to ' introduce the double service in Novemjber. but would ascertain and let the member know. The Premier later informed Mr. Harris j that, owing to the great amount of ! work involved in the preparation of the ! revised time tables, it would not be pos--1 sible to put on the double express on November Ist. The General Manager of Railways had promised to have a statei ment issued on the subject as soon aa i practicable.
