ALWAYS MERRY AND BRIGHT.

ENGLISH FAIR. SECOND DAY OF SESSION. Success will certainly be achieved by tho Social Committee of the Waterside Workers with their Old English Carnival at the Town Hall. Again on this second day of the old-time fair the great place, with all its pretty decorations, its games and amusements, its stalls, sideshows and displays, is a scene of unusual animation. Four bands are present: The Auckland City, Garrison Artillery, Temperance Guards, and Pipe. The programme for the entertainment to-night is distinctive. The famous "Originals" will dance, people will play and sing, and there will bo humorous turns in suitable numbers. This afternoon there are baby shows, displays, dancing, and afternoon tea. The soldiers exhibit basket-work, the stallholders are trying with eager efforts to sell all their pretty wares, there are Art Unions with prizes galore, and over a 'hundred competitors will exhibit their talents at National dancing. To-morrow night the entertainment for guests will be Miss Daphne Knight's dance recital. (Published by Arrangement)
