BOWLING.

The Karangahake Bowling Club held th< iiOicial opening or their green on Saturday last. Mr. K. Jury (president) welcomed the large number of visitors present from the various Goldflelds clubs, aud announced the good wishes received from Remuera. Ponsonby, Morrinsville, Te Puke, and Thames Clubs, who were unable to oe re presented. Mrs. Ultcble having thrown tin Bret jack, the green was declared open foi play amidst enthusiasm. The -green belm all a bowler could desire, a most enjoyable match was then contested between teams representing presidents and vice-presidents tbe latter being eventually declared tht 1 winners by IIW to Kl4 points. During tht afternoon the club's croquet lawns am: I tennis clubs were taxed to their full eapa j city, and at the conclusion everyone left foi bolne declaring tbe day a huge success.
