Kleetrical Workers | Bricklayers Furniture Trades Workers Operative Painters Operative Plumbers Operative Masons Operative Plasterers. KMPLOYEK.S. Auckland Master Builders' Association Auckland Master Bricklayers' Assoiation Master Masons' Association Master Plasterers' AssociationSo far the employers in the furniture rades. the electrical workers and the lumbers have not signified their intenion of taking part in the conference. THE PROPOSALS. The following arc the main proposals lubmitted by the workers that will form /he ba=is of discussion: — Hours. —Forty on five d..;>s of the veek. No Saturday work. Classes of Labour—Journeymen and ipprentices. Wages.—£4 15/ per week. Casual workers, 2/0 per hour: foremen 1/ per lay extra. Overtime and Holidays.—Double time , for all work over 40 hours. Double time ' for all statutorj- holidays. Double time ! for any period over four hours without j 1 meal. j Suburban Work.—Worker to be on the job at starting time. To be paid eight- ' ponce per day tor every mile beyond one from the Post Office. This to apply to apprentices as well. Employer to provide conveyance for worker unable to get home by ordinary means of transport and to pay ferry fares. Country Work.—When worker sleeps away from home, employer shall pay 5/ per day extra, fare to and from the job, and incidental expenses. Worker shall be paid for eight hours only per day when travelling, unless working on the same day. Apprentices.—An apprentice shall have his wages increased by one-sixth thi journeymen's wage annually. Where possible he shall attend the technical school, and on securing the London City and Guilds Certificate, he shall he paid an extra 5/ in his fourth year and 7/0 in his fifth year, etc. Engagement of Workers.—To be throi.(gh the union office. Term of Award.—One year. To cover tlie northern industrial district. General Conditions. —Disputes to bo settled by representatives of the union in conjunction with the employer, failures to be referred to the Arbitration Court. Piece work prohibited, and sub]cttin;_' on a labour basis only prohibited. I'ifty per cent higher wages for workers engaged 011 pumice, charcoal, silicate, insulation work in a confined space, or where work is impregnated with dust or in a freezing chamber with the temperature at 40deg. Double rates where a worker is required to work with the temperature at 120deg Fab. Threepence per hour extra when engaged in the demolition of buildings damaged by fire, or working in water, coal bunkers, chutes, swinging stages, and on ladders over 30ft from the ground. Workers to receive 1/6 per meal when working overtime after fi.3o p.m. Special Trades.—Special clauses.
