NO OVERTIME WORK. CITY SERVICE ENDANGERED, (By Te'egraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Pending settlement of the demands recently made by the men at Miramax gasworks for increased wages tile mcii uave decided to discontinue working overtime. Thus, with the exception ot stokers on ordinary shifts, no work will be done after ye o'clock on Saturday afternoon or on Sundays, if a breakdown of the machinery occurs during this period gasmaking may have to cease ; as it is imperative such repairs shall be done immediately, no matter what the time of day or night. If 'this cannot be done there is danger of the city's gas supply stopping without notice.
