POST AND TELEGRAPH PAY.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I have been struck with what I consider very questionable Government methods. Not so long ago we were given to understand that the Poet and Telegraph Departmental officers received a 45 per cent, increase all round; now we find that come of the increases do not come up to the war bonus paid, and the Government have decided to make it up for them. Sir, as I understand the wai bonue was paid only to officers earning below a certain standard, it seems that the Government have been and arc still acting unfairly to the lower paid officers of that service. Such action does not tend to give the public what should be an efficient service for it must cause grave discontent. If the officiaJs have not a union, which it evidently seems ac though they haven't, it ie about tmio they formed one.—l am, etc., J. TIitPKING.
