SOLDIERS' GRATUITIES.
PAID BEFORE CHRISTMAS. (By Telesraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, Monday. According to Mr. 11. Poland (Ohinemuri(, v. ho worked out the rate of payment of war gratuities during the first twenty days after payments commenced, it will take three years to complete the distribution of the money. He wanted to know if something could ho done to expedite these payments. The Premier promised to make inquiry, but he assured the inquirer that tho whole of the paymente will be made by Christmas.
