N.Z. LABOUR PARTY.
BRAX/OH FORMED AT HIKUtRAXG.I. WHA'XGARBI, Monday. A well-attended meeting in .the Hikurangi Public Hall was held yesterday to discuss the ■New Zealand Labour party question. Mr. P. H. A. Alexder, ipreß-ideat of t.lie Whangarei braneih, with Mr. Cole (member of the executive eommiltee) were present and addressed the meeting, and stated that a conference would be held in Whangarei this week-end to consider selecting a candidate in the party's interest to e-ofrtest the Mansdea seat, it being desired that delegates from Hlku-rangi should be ■present.
It was resolved to form a branch of the Xew Zealand Labour party at Hikurangil, and the following provincial officers were appointed:—President, Mr. TV. iMcKin.layeomniittee. Messrs. .Steele, Dunn. P Aitke'n' D. Cochrane. iXesbit, F. Little, Stobbs Dalwood. W. Mrfvinlay. Jr., W. Tundall and T Dunn: secretary and treasurcfa, (Mr -E,. Taylor.
A good number of members were enrolled »nd tt was decided that four delegates" from Hikurangi attend the conference at Whangarei for tlie purpose of selecting an official candidate for the .Marsdea seat in ■the Labour 'party's dniterests
