New Zealand last week Admiral Jel-lieoe informed him that a portrait of Sir Joseph Ward, which previously hung' in the ship, had been removed. The Admiral had no idea by whom it had been Liken, but suggested that it might have been injured in action. As Admiral Jellieoe expressed a strong v i-b that a portrait of Sir Joseph Ward should remain in tiie ship another suitable picture has been placed on board.
