In con-! sequence of complaints from natives concerning PowdTelTs behaviour, Con- j stable Murray went ont to see the man. ■ When within 30yds of Powdrell the latter put his head over the muzzle Of a shot-gun. which had been standing' near by, anl pushed the trigger with a stick, the top of his ahead being blown off. The natives had informed t-be police that they were afraid Powdrell j might shoot someone.
