Huddart-Parker Stea.m shares firmed in price yesterday, sales taking place at the third call at £2 7/, at which figure there were still buyers to-day. P. and 0. Deferred stock "are still "offered at £530, but the buying quotation dropped to £~>ls at the noon call, as against £523 yesterday. Kauri Timber contributing j shares were placed at 15/10 this morning, and Wilsons N.Z. Cement were a shade easier, being sold at 10/2. Bank and i insurance shares were wanted at late rates. Buyers of Bank of New Zealand paid issue advanced their offers to £18 12/ at the noon call, and £14 9/ was the 1 figure at which old issue were wanted. N.Z.
