Thursday. j At the oonforence of South Islam i Development Leagues to-day the follow ing resolutions wore passed: (1) Urginf the Government to appoint a commis sion to consider land tenures in tin South Islandt (2) asking that snflioicn land should be purchased in the Sotrtl Island for soldiers in order to obviati the necessity for seeking tenures in th' North Island: (3) urging that local ex ports should bo associated with lam boards in the purchase and cutting v] of land for soldiers' settlements; (4 p urging the encouragement of the touris ic °j traffic; (•")) l.rging the establishment o t_! experimental farms in the South Islam L _\ with a view to proving the suitabilit; y.i of lucerne as fodder; ((i) urging tha _ inquiries be made regarding aerial posta a services!
