SYDNEY SEAMEN AGAINST IT. EMISSARIES FROM VICTORIA. (By Cable.—(Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 11.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Most of the union officials ridicule the idea of a general strike, stating that they are in sympathy with the seamen, but are opposed to extension of the trouble. It is unofficially stated that the local branch of the Seamen's Union will oppose a general strike. MELBOURNE, this day. The Trades Hall emissaries for the promotion of a general strike movement have departed for other States. —(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
