HANDLEY-PAGE GIANT.
TO ATTEMPT ATLANTIC FLIGHT CARRIES OVER 13 TONS. (Received 0.35 a.m.) ST. JOHNS, May 25— Delayed. The Hundley-Page bombing biplane which is being assembled will ho the largest aeroplane to attempt the transAtlantic flight. Fully loaded, the machine will carry 13 tons 7 cwt 1 qt 11 lbs. It is equipped with four RollsRoyce eight-cylinder engines, generating a total of lf>oo-horse power. Tt is estimated that the engines will consume 108 gallons of petrol per hour, developing a speed of 00 miles an hour. It will carry 2370 gallons of petrol, and will on equipped with a Wireless plant with n. 2">o-mile receiving radius. It can continue to fly even when two engines are not working. The estimated cost of the biplane is £24,000. It is expected that it will be ready for a test flight within a fortnight.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.) FRENCH ENTRANTS. PARIP, May 24 (delayed).
