MORE ACUTE IN SYDNEY. 100 NEW CASES YESTERDAY. SYDNEY. June 4. The position regarding inlluenza is again less reassuring. Over 100 new cases and seven deaths were reported in the metropolitan area to-day. In several of the country centres the epidemic shows an increasing tendency. Precautions arc being readopted in the country districts against the spread of the disease. Reports from Brisbane state that influenza continues to increase its hold, both in the city and country districts. Up to Monday 0,505 eases had been reported in j the metropolitan area, and 2,113 in the I country. Since Saturday there have Ken over 40 deaths, including nine in the country.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
